MoS takes stock of people’s problems

As part of the government's public outreach programme, Minister of State for Transport and Public Works, Sunil Kumar Sharma today chaired public grievance redressal camp here at Shrawal Village of Block Trigam.
The Minister was accompanied by a team of district administration led by District Development Commissioner Angrez Singh Rana and SSP Abrar Choudhary.
Locals raised issues/problems mostly related to rural development department. They demanded pending wages, effective implementation of development and welfare schemes.
The local people also raised the issue of water scarcity in the area especially in the Zadwan village and complained that despite repeated pleas the department has failed to deliver. They further demanded proper road connectivity, better services, repair of school buildings & adequate teaching staff. They also sought strong directions for revenue department to expedite its services including issuance of PRCs and category certificates.
Responding to the issues, the Minister said that the pending wages under MGNREGA are being released shortly. He further asked the ACD to enquire into complaint of locals about denial of wages to genuine job card holders.
Sharma directed Executive Engineer PHE to take immediate action against the officials found lacking in their duties and mitigate the sufferings of people at the earliest.
The Minister set one month deadline for issuing PRCs to the all eligible students of local schools , while directing ACR to constitute a team in collaboration with the ZEO to complete the process as per norms in a time bound manner.
The Minister also announced to provide Rs 10 lakh for the construction of cremation ground road as demanded by the people.
The Minister informed the locals that government has initiated comprehensive programme for Kishtwar district which envisages improving of living standard of common masses through development.
String of hydro power projects proposed in the area will create adequate employment avenues for local youth, he said and sought involvement of people for realising the dream of all round development of the district.
