    • Dalit, OBC, and Minority bodies condemn insult to judiciary; demand justice for “institutional murder” of senior IPS officer

Jammu, Oct 11 — The Joint Action Committee of SC, ST, OBC and Minorities Organisations today organised a massive protest and dharna at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Chowk, Jammu, condemning the recent attempt to throw a shoe at the Chief Justice of India and the alleged institutional murder of a senior IPS officer in Haryana.

Addressing the gathering, Sham Lal Basson, President of the All J&K Dalit Chetna Manch and former corporator, said that the incident was a disgraceful act aimed at tarnishing the image of the judiciary and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the father of the Indian Constitution.

Several prominent leaders participated, including Er. R. C. Bhasin (Convenor, All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha), Sunita Bangotra (President, Savitri Bai Phule Mahila Sangathan), Bhushan Dogra (Former Vice-Chairman, Advisory Board for Welfare of Scheduled Castes), Kali Dass Manotra (President, All J&K Mahasha Sadhar Sabha), Dr. Rajinder Sambyal (President, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Welfare Association, Greater Kailash), F. C. Satia (State President, All India Backward Classes Federation), and others from various social and community organisations.

Prof. C. L. Shivgotra said that such an act reflects deep bias and lack of respect for the judiciary, adding that no one would dare to insult the CJI if he belonged to an upper caste background.

Effigies of advocates Rakesh Kishore and Anil Mishra were burnt on the spot as a mark of protest.

The demonstrators demanded strict legal action against those responsible and urged the government to ensure justice and protection of dignity for all communities.
