*When we choose to gulp down water in a rush, standing as if there's a train we can't miss, our bodies signal an emergency of sorts. According to Dr Imraan Khan (PT), consultant head physiotherapist, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, this behaviour leads to water passing through our system too fast, as a result, the digestive juices, which are responsible for breaking down food into nutrients our body can use, become diluted. So, it's better to drink water slowly and while sitting down for good digestion, said Dr Khan.
