As the reports have confirmed that the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) is soon going to upload the soft copies of the textbooks printed and published by the board on its official website giving a sigh of relief to hundreds of students, who had to face difficulties in getting the hard copies of these books due t0 shortage.
At a time, when people sitting at helm are boasting about country becoming digitally very strong, there is a need that the government in J&K issues directions to the concerned stakeholders to make it a routine to provide the soft copies of the aforesaid textbooks online to the students as this will eliminate the problem of unavailability of these books especially at places away from the district headquarters.
Although the announcement of uploading the soft copies of the aforesaid books has been made amid apprehensions about the delay in the distribution of textbooks in schools post-winter vacation in March, it would have been much better if this procedure becomes a regular feature and all the books are made available online.
The concerned officials in the BOSE have clarified that the textbooks prescribed up to class 9th would be uploaded on the website in the coming days and textbooks of class 10th onwards would be uploaded later.
The aforesaid Board has made it clear that the soft copies would be made available to the students till the printing of all textbooks, which is a bit intriguing because why these books are not provided as a regular affair because this will be great convenience for the student community as they need not to go from one place to another for getting their books as the same will be at a mouse’s click away.
There is dire need that people who matter should ponder over the issue and come up with this facility as soon as possible because online availability of books will revolutionize the education sector saving a lot of time of the students which they could spend in making their educational basis strong and competitive, as to excel in today’s era of cut throat competition, every second of time counts.
