Just 1 pc health workers received 1st dose, 15 pc still unvaccinated

Over 45 percent yet to take second jab, reveal figures

Srinagar, Jul 29Even after elapsing over six months since vaccination drive against Covid-19 was started in J&K, around 25 percent care workers in J&K are yet to get their first dose of vaccine.

Official sources told the news agency— News Observer (KNO) that in the last 40 days just one percent of the health care workers have been given their first dose of vaccination.

In , Kishtiwar, Doda, Udhampur, Kuthua, Ramban, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi 94 percent, 74 percent, 98 percent, 99 percent, 92 percent, 94 percent, 100.00 percent, 100 percent, 89 percent and 77 percent healthcare workers have received first jab while as 65 percent, 45 percent, 55 percent, 70 percent, 59 percent, 70 percent, 75 percent, 59 percent 58 percent and 51 percent have received second dose respectively.

 

In Srinagar of 15,492 health care workers, 11,572 have received their first jab while 6,181 have received both jabs.

“The percentage of health care workers who have received the first jab is 75 percent while 40 percent have received the second jab,” data available with us suggests. “In Kulgam of 5,347 healthcare workers, 79 percent have received the first jab and 43 percent have received the second jab. In Shopian, of 1764, 84 percent received the first jab and 61 percent received second jab. In Bandipora, of 3,170, 72 percent and 38 percent have received first and second jabs respectively.”

The figures further state that in Anantnag of 8,841 healthcare workers, 68 percent have received first dose and 39 percent have received second dose and in Baramulla of 7,545 healthcare workers, 90 percent have received first jab and 57 percent have received second jab.

“In Kupwara out of 7,761 healthcare workers, 68 percent have received the first jab and 46 percent have received the second jab. In Pulwama, of 3,767 workers 96 percent have received the first jab while 57 percent have received the second jab. In Ganderbal of 2,903 healthcare workers 83 percent have received first jab and 58 percent have received second jab and in Budgam of 5,914 workers 84 percent healthcare workers have received first jab while 62 percent have received second jab,” the data reveals.

“In aggregate form, of 122,235 heath care workers, 104,370 (85 percent) have received first jab and 66,634 (55 percent) have received second jab respectively,” the data adds.
