Covid claims one more life, 81 more test positive in J&K

Tally reaches 126,853; death toll reaches 1960, Active cases around 900 in J&K, recovery rate around 98 percent

Srinagar, Mar 05 (KNO): Covid-19 on Friday claimed one more life in and taking the toll of deaths related to Covid-19 to 1,960 while as 81 fresh positive cases were reported taking tally of positive cases to 126,853.

Of the exact number of 126,853 cases, 74,788 are from Kashmir and 52,065 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 81 new cases, 61 belong to Kashmir division while as 20 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 74,788 including 72,845 recoveries and 1,234 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 52,065 including 51,157 recoveries and 726 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 891 including 709 from Kashmir division and 182 from Jammu division.

With 72 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 124,002 which is 97.77 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 35 from Srinagar, 09 from Baramulla, 08 from Budgam, 01 from Pulwama,   00 from Kupwara, 03 from Anantnag, 01 from Bandipora, 02 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 20 from Jammu division include 14 from Jammu, 02 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 04 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 27,220 positive cases including 461 deaths and 26,332 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,299  including 175 deaths and 8,049 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,910 including 7,750 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Budgam, 5,876 including 5,740 recoveries and 90 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,691 including 97 deaths and 5,581 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,044 including 4,919 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,720 cases including 4,641 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,676 including 4,615 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,742 including 2,664 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,610 including 2,554 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 25,282 including 24,796 recoveries and 374 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,318 including 4,212 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,876 including 3,821 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,438 including 3,374 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,265 including 3,206 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,841 including 2,794 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,738 including 2,714 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,524 including 2,496 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,135 including 2,114 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,648 including 1,630 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,343,831 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 32,561 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 891 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,197,527 persons have completed surveillance period and 110,892 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,336,858 samples are available.

Out of 5,336,858 the number of samples tested negative stands at 5,210,005 while as 126,853 have tested positive, among them 891 persons are active, 124,002 persons have recovered and 1,960 persons have died—(KNO)

 

The Bulletin further said that out of 5336858test results available, 5210005 samples have been tested as negative till 05thMarch, 2021.

Till date 1343831 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 32561 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 891 in isolation and 110892 in home surveillance. Besides, 1197527 persons have completed their surveillance period.

Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Jammu has 25282 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today) with 112 active positive cases, 24796 recoveries (including 16 cases recovered today), 374 deaths; Udhampur has 4318 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today)49active positive cases, 4212 recoveries (including 09 cases recovered today)and57 deaths; Rajouri has 3876 positive cases with 00 active positive, 3821 recoveries and 55 deaths; Doda has 3438 positive caseswith02 Active positive, 3374 recovered(including 02 cases recovered today) and 64 deaths; Kathua has 3265 positive cases with 06 active positive cases, 3206 recovered and 53 deaths; Kishtwar has 2738 positive cases with 02 Active Positive, 2714 recoveries (including 02 cases recovered today) and22 deaths; Samba has 2841 positive cases with 07 active positive cases, 2794 recoveries and 40 deaths; Poonch has 2524 positive cases(including 04 cases reported today) with04active positive, 2496recoveries (including 02 cases recovered today)and 24 deaths; Ramban has 2135 positive caseswith00 active positive cases, 2114 recoveries and 21 deaths while Reasi has 1648 positive with 02 active positive cases, 1630 recoveries and 16 deaths.

Similarly, Srinagar has 27220 positive cases (including 35 cases reported today) with 427 Active Positive, 26332 recovered (including 13 cases recovered today), 461 deaths; Baramulla has 8299 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today)with 75Active Positive, 8049 recovered (including 12 cases recovered today), 175 deaths; Budgam reported 7910 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today)with 40 active positive cases, 7750 recovered (including 04cases recovered today), 120 deaths; Pulwama has 5876 positive cases (including 01 cases reported today)with 46 Active Positive, 5740 recovered (including 02 cases recovered today)and 90 deaths; Kupwara has 5691 positive cases, 13 Active Positive, 5581 recoveries, 97 deaths;  Anantnag district has 5044 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today)with 37 Active Positive, 4919 recovered (including 04 cases recovered today), 88 deaths;  Bandipora has 4720 positive cases (including 01 cases reported today)with17 Active Positive and 4641 recoveries (including 03 cases recovered today), 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4676 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today)with 14 Active Positive, 4615 recoveries (including 01 cases recovered today)and47deaths; Kulgam has 2742 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today)with 24 Active Positive, 2664 recoveries (including 02 cases recovered today)and 54 deaths while as Shopian has 2610 positive cases),16 active positive cases, 2554 recoveries and 40 deaths.

According to the bulletin, among the total 126853 positive cases in J&K, 12457 have been reported as travelers while 114396 as others.
