J&K: NIA Raids Multiple Locations in ‘White-Collar Terror’ Module Probe

SRINAGAR, Dec 1: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday carried out raids across Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam districts in connection with a “white-collar” terror module linked to a deadly car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, officials said.

The searches included the residence of Moulvi Irfan Ahmad Wagay in Shopian, identified as the key radicaliser and recruiter of the module busted early last month, officials said. Wagay, arrested in October, was taken into NIA custody after the agency took over the investigation into the blast that killed 15 people and injured several others.

Raids were simultaneously conducted in Koil, Chandgam, Malangpora and Samboora areas of Pulwama, targeting individuals associated with the Delhi car blast case, officials added.

The agency also searched the residence of Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather, arrested from Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur in early November.

    Further details are awaited.
