J&K Assembly: Scuffle Breaks Out Between Congress MLA Irfan Hafiz Lone And BJP MLA Yudvir Sethi

JAMMU, Mar 27: A scuffle broke out between Congress MLA Irfan Hafiz Lone and BJP MLA Yudvir Sethi in the J&K Assembly on Thursday after Congress members raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The situation escalated when a BJP legislator referred to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as “Pappu,” leading to chaos and a brief adjournment of the House.

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary urged an end to the confrontation and welcomed the Prime Minister’s initiative to convene a meeting of Chief Ministers to seek their views on key issues. He expressed hope that the interaction would lead to constructive outcomes.

“We want the war to end. The Prime Minister has called a meeting so all Chief Ministers can be taken into confidence. This is a good step and we hope it yields results,” he said.

BJP MLA Surjit Singh Slathia said the Prime Minister’s diplomatic approach has strengthened India’s position globally and ensured sufficient fuel reserves for the country. He also accused certain parties of attempting to create confusion among the public.

“As far as saying PM Narendra Modi has surrendered, these people don’t even know that today, due to the PM’s diplomatic strategy, global economies are in decline. PM has provided gas and petrol for 70 days. Some parties and people want to spread confusion,” he said. (Agencies)
