Being from Jammu & Kashmir myself, I have encountered far too many people who believe the entire region is buried under snow all year and that every resident must have witnessed terrorists firing in the streets. It genuinely pains me to hear such comments, shaped more by assumptions than reality.

In reality, Jammu & Kashmir is a land of immense natural and cultural wealth. It is globally celebrated for its saffron cultivation in Pampore, the juicy apples of Sopore and the aromatic Basmati rice from the Jammu plains. These agricultural treasures not only sustain local livelihoods but also contribute significantly to India’s agri-economy.
