Jammu Tawi: 75th Independence Day was celebrated across Jammu Province with fervor and enthusiasm. Several organizations and institutions hoisted tri-colours and celebrated the occasion with cultural programmes. Independence Day was celebrated by JKBoSE with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm by hosting an impressive function attended by all the officers and officials.
Prof. Veena Pandita, Chairperson, JKBoSE hoisted the Tricolour at Jammu Division headquarters in presence of the Secretary JKBoSE, Manisha Sarin.
In her message, Prof. Pandita greeted all the Officers/Officials and urged them to maintain and further grow the five thousand years’ old coveted Indian ethos and values of commitment, truthfulness, fraternity feeling and harmony amongst various classes, races and communities to create a better India. Indian Institute of Management Jammu observed the celebration of the 75th Independence Day. With some students back on campus, the event was celebrated together by the entire IIM Jammu community in a hybrid mode with a blend of online and offline, including students, faculty members and staff. Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director IIM Jammu commenced the event with the unfurling of the National Flag and addressed the gathering.
In his address to students, Prof. Sahay spoke about the landmark achievement of the Government of India in vaccinating a massive number of population and requested the students to get themselves vaccinated on a priority basis. He also emphasized the pivotal role that IIM Jammu is playing in the socio-economic development of the state. Prof. Sahay congratulated the Olympic winners and upheld their achievements. He concluded his speech by motivating students to take pride in the rich cultural identity of their nation. Pawan Kumar Gupta unfurled National flag on 75th Independence Day at Lal Chowk Udhampur.
He was accompanied by several prominent leaders and personalities among these chairman municipal council Udhampur Dr. Jogeshwar Gupta, vdc chairman Balwan Singh, DDC councilor Puran Chand, Raju Chandail, Pankaj Mahajan and Rohit Sethi. Remembering the contribution of freedom fighters, Gupta said that we are able celebrate this day due to their struggles. He also thanked Baba Bhim Rao Ambedkar for giving us such a unique Constitution. Moreover, he also thanked Modi government for AIIMs, NIIT, GMCs and roads. BJP celebrated the Independence Day with fervour by hoisting National Tricolour at various prominent places and distributed sweets in the Jammu City. Main celebration in this regard was held at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, while the main leaders led by BJP J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina along with other senior leaders also hoisted the “Tiranga” at City Chowk and Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Bhawan, Kachi Chawni BJP office, along with every Mohalla, Chowk, Ward, Panchayat and other prominent places of the region. BJP General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, along with other senior leaders from Kashmir region, led the flag hoisting celebrations by the party activists in Kashmir.
Ravinder Raina wished every Indian and especially the residents of J&K on the 75th Independence Day and said that the population of Jammu and Kashmir is celebrating “Swatantrata Diwas” with fervour in every Panchayat and Ward of J&K. He said that this is a very pious occasion for every Indian when we got independence after a hard struggle and many sacrifices.
CRPF celebrated 75th Independence Day (Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav) with full vigour and enthusiasm. National Flag was unfurled at all the locations. On the occasion, a programme was organized at Group Centre CRPF Campus Jammu. Chief guest P.S. Ranpise, IGP, Jammu Sector hoisted the National Flag at the Quarter Guard in presence of senior officers, subordinate officers and Jawans of CRPF Campus Jammu. In his address the chief guest mention the importance of the day and said that since independence the CRPF is rendering its valuable services in difficult parts of country and abroad. The CRPF has made a special contribution in thwarting making separatist challenge in the country. The CRPF has also made many sacrifices to maintain the unity and sovereignty of the country. 75th Independence Day of India, was celebrated at the University of Jammu with patriotic fervour and zeal. Keeping Social Distancing intact and observing SOPs related to the Covid-19 pandemic, a gathering of teaching faculty, officers, staff of the University of Jammu participated in the function.
Prof. Manoj K. Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu hoisted the National Flag at the Fountain Plaza. Prof. Dhar, while greeting the University fraternity, spoke about the spirit of nationalism, integrity, peace and brotherhood. He also expressed his gratitude towards the corona warriors of the Country in general and of the University in particular who are resiliently fighting against the pandemic and are resolute to get the Nation out of its clutches. Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI), Jammu today celebrated the 75th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and nationalistic fervour here today.
An impressive programme was organized at the Chamber House which commenced with the hoisting of National Flag by Arun Gupta, President Chamber of Commerce and Industries Jammu in presence of other office bearers and senior members of the CCI.
The whole environs were filled patriotic fervour with more than 400 CCI Jammu members joining the occasion dedicated to the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the cause of the nation and its people as a result of which the people of the World’s largest Democracy are enjoying full freedom and self esteem having earned honour and dignity at the global level.

National flag hoisted in the premises of Jammu Red Cross Home for handicapped, Udhaywala, Jammu on the eve of 75th independence day by PC Kapoor President of the home. The members of the management committee were also present on the occasion. Satish Kumar Sharma, secretary greeted the members of the governing body, staff members along with physically challenged & hearing impaired children of the home and said that we all are enjoying today the freedom which was earned by our valiant freedom fighters with their blood so it is our duty to safe guard the freedom. Kapoor elaborated the importance and value of the Independence Day. He also added that our nation is still facing very difficult time due to COVID-19 Pandemic. JKAP 7th Battalion has celebrated 75th Independence Day at Battalion Hqrs. APC, Channi Himmat Jammu. The Flag was hoisted by Suneel Raj, Commandant JKAP 7th Battalion at Battalion Hqrs. Channi Himmat Jammu. During speech the officers and Jawans were congratulated for celebrating Independence Day and also for continuously performing COVID-19 duties as well as law and order duties in Jammu province. Besides, freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our country were remembered. CEO Shrine Board unfurled the Tricolour with traditional fervour and patriotism at Katra, the base town for pilgrimage to the Holy Cave Shrine of
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji. Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh Kumar greeted the people on this joyous occasion. He touched upon many current issues in the country from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic to India’s recent success at the Tokyo Olympics. Col R K Sharma-Retd Chairman ABS desired the participation of every Indian in such occasions. In Sub-division Marh, Block development Chairman Marh Surinder Kumar hoisted National flag in Govt Higher Secondary school Marh. He distributed prizes among the participating students. Remembering the martyrs on the occasion, he said that it is our duty to pay tribute to them who laid their lives for Independence from British rule. Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) celebrated 75th Independence Day here yesterday at KVK, Reasi campus with great fervor, zeal and spirit which was attended by a number of farmers of the area. The programme was inaugurated by Bodh Raj, Naib Tehsildhar of Dera Baba. Dr. Banarsi Lal, Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi while welcoming the participants spoke on the significance of the event. He congratulated the participants on the Independence Day and stressed on the unity in diversity.
He recalled the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters to secure independence for the country. 75 Independence Day was celebrated with full zeal and patriotic fervour in the Jammu Wing of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
Justice Tashi Rabstan hoisted the National Flag and took salute. Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Justice Sindhu Sharma, Justice Rajnesh Oswal, Justice Puneet Gupta and Justice Javed Iqbal Wani besides officers and officials of registry also participated in the celebration.
Judicial officers of the District Court Jammu, Govt. advocates, Senior Advocates and other members of the Bar Association Jammu were also present on the occasion. The Police band of the Jammu and Kashmir Police played tunes of patriotic songs which captivated and enthralled the audience. Government Degree College Sunderbani celebrated the 75th Independence Day in the College with great Zeal & Enthusiasm. Principal, staff members and Students of NCC, NSS and EBSB Clubs participated in the function.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vinod Kumar Behnal unfurled the National Flag along with the Principal of the College.
The Principal of the College addressed the gathering & highlighted the sacrifices of the Freedom Fighters & advised the Students to play their active role in the development and prosperity of the Country. To mark 75 Years of India’s Independence, staff and students of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Jullaka Mohalla hoisted tricolour in the school premises and celebrated the occasion with fanfare.

Government Polytechnic College Kathua celebrated the 75th Independence Day with great fervour and enthusiasm on the college campus.
Principal of the college, Er Arun Bangotra hoisted the Tricolour followed by the National Anthem.
In his address, Er Arun threw light on the significance of the Great Fay. All the staff members and students participated in the function. Certificates were presented to the students who participated in the 75th Independence Day week-long celebration under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav- including Poster Making Competition, Patriotic Video making, Essay Writing competition, Quiz competition, Plantation Drive and Swacchta Pakhwada.
Bharatiya Janata Partyn (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri alongwith prominent citizens and various Bazaar Associations of Jammu hoisted Tricolour in ceremonies at Residency Road, Lakhdata Bazar, Kanak Mandi, Miran Saheb and Bhagwati Nagar. Speaking on the occasion, Raman Suri said that it is after decades that Jammu and Kashmir got rid of Article 370 after which, for the first time, BDC and DDC polls were held and the three-tier system of governance was strengthened to empower common people.
He also informed the gathering about importance of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, stating that it is an initiative of the Union Government to commemorate 75 years of independence of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. Raman Suri also distributed sweets amongst children and said that J&K is witnessing a new era of peace, progress and development wherein youth are going to get their due in terms of employment as well. Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School Poonch celebrated 75th Independence Day with flag hoisting amidst cultural programme at the school campus.
The day was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm to express the feeling of unity and secularism. The tricolour was unfurled by the Principal of the School, Hamida Begum which was followed by the National Anthem.

Institute of Music and Fine Arts (IMFA), University of Jammu, organized a Flag Hoisting Ceremony to celebrate the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” on the eve of 75th Independence Day of our country. The ceremony began with the hoisting of our National Flag by the chief guest – Corporator Neelam Kumari on the roof top of the Institute’s building in Poonch House, Talab Tillo, Jammu. Sh. Jang S. Verman, an eminent artist, was the special guest present on the occasion.

ABVP karyakartas unfurled National Flag in 50 villages of Rajouri ,205 villages of Sunderbani ,200 villages of Kathua ,150 villages of Samba , 530 villages ,75 wards, 10 bastis of Jammu district ,310 villages of Udhampur,200 villages of Reasi ,116 villages of Ramban ,200 villages of Doda ,150 villages of Kishtwar, and above 1000 villages of Kashmir and 10 villages of Ladakh .
ABVP Jammu Kashmir State Secretary Mukesh Manhas said that ABVP has taken a big campaign to hoist National Flag at every village of Jammu Kashmir in which ABVP volunteers has unfurled National Flag at 3400 plus villages of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh.
