Intensify operations against militants: DGP

Acknowledges appointment of 40 kin deceased cops as Diwali gift

Srinagar, Nov 3 : Director General of and Police Dilbag Singh on Wednesday thanked the Ministry of Home Affair, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha among others for appointment orders of 40 next of kin of deceased police personnel.

The police further said in the tweet, “The DGP has said that issuing these orders would give much needed financial relief to the families who have lost their caretakers while protecting and safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of the nation and also interests of people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the appointments would serve as a Diwali gift for these families.”

Director General of Police Wednesday visited Anantnag and chaired a joint meeting of officers to review the security scenario.

Addressing the officers meeting, the DGP stressed for alertness and said that no space should be given to any anti-peace element to create any disturbance and emphasized on stepping up operations to check the movement of criminals and militants and other suspicious elements.

He directed for taking stern action against the elements found involved in anti-peace activities. He directed that besides monitoring the law and order situation strict surveillance be maintained on the mischief mongers and over ground workers.

DGP said that JKP along with other security forces has maintained peace and order effectively in the face of difficult situations during the last over three decades to provide and provided a peaceful for the people.

With regard to the upcoming winter, the DGP directed the officers to mobilize their resources so that the personnel deployed in remote and snow bound areas don't face any problem.

Singh also directed the officers to intensify the operations against militants/militancy support network and directed the officers to augment the security of vulnerable places.
