IndiGo Becomes First Airline To Commence Operations From Noida International Airport

JEWAR (UP), June 15: IndiGo on Monday became the first airline to commence commercial flight operations from the newly inaugurated Noida International Airport (NIA), marking a major milestone in enhancing air connectivity across the National Capital Region and western Uttar Pradesh.

The airline’s inaugural flight arrived from Lucknow in the morning, while the first outbound service departed for Bengaluru shortly thereafter. With the launch of services from NIA, IndiGo will directly connect the airport to more than 16 destinations across India.

According to the airline, the new operations will also facilitate seamless one-stop connectivity across 14 city pairs, including routes linking Amritsar, Bareilly, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kishangarh and Pantnagar. The expanded network is expected to improve access between Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and major metropolitan centres.

“Opening of the Noida International Airport marks a new chapter in India’s aviation story,” said Aloke Singh, Chief Strategy Officer, IndiGo. He said the airline was proud to be the launch carrier at NIA and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening connectivity in western Uttar Pradesh and the wider Delhi-NCR region.

Christoph Schnellmann, Vice Chairman of Noida International Airport, said IndiGo’s entry marked the beginning of a new phase for the airport, offering passengers greater choice and convenience from day one while supporting growth in aviation, trade and tourism.

Strategically located along the Yamuna Expressway, NIA is expected to emerge as a major aviation and logistics hub. With its launch, IndiGo now operates from all three airports in the NCR—Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad and Noida International Airport. (Agencies)
