    Govt committed to expanding access to education with 85 New KVs: Modi

    NEW DELHI, Dec 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Saturday that the government has approved the opening of 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) across the country, reinforcing its commitment to making school education more accessible. He also highlighted that this decision will not only benefit students but will also create numerous employment opportunities.

    In a post on X, Modi emphasized that the move aligns with the National Education Policy, which seeks to provide quality education to every section of society. He added that the government has also approved the opening of 28 new Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVs), which will further expand residential and quality education options.

    The Cabinet’s approval includes funding of Rs 5,872.08 crore for the establishment of the new KVs and the expansion of one existing school, set to be completed by 2033. This initiative is expected to benefit over 82,000 students nationwide.

    Modi also announced the approval of the Rithala-Kundli corridor under Phase IV of the Delhi Metro, which will improve connectivity between Delhi and Haryana, making commuting easier for millions.

    These decisions were made during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi on Friday.
