Massive search operation on to track hiding terrorists: SSP Bandipora

Bandipora, Apr 24: An exchange of fire took place between terrorists and security forces at Renji woods of Bandipora district on Wednesday morning, even as a massive search operation to track down the terrorists is still in progress.

As per the KNO news agency, Police wrote on X, “A contact was established between #terrorists and security forces in the early morning in Renji forest area of Aragam, #Bandipora. Search operation is going on”.

Similarly, Chinar Corps – Indian Army on their X handler wrote, “Based on specific intelligence by agencies regarding presence of terrorists, a Joint Operation was launched from 21 Apr onwards by #IndianArmy & @JmuKmrPolice in general area Mulkhyama Forest, Bandipore”.

“The area was cordoned & search conducted, resulting in a fire fight in early hours this morning. Operations in progress”.

Meanwhile, reliable sources said that helicopters have been pressed into service while more forces have been rushed to the spot to track down hiding terrorists.

“A massive search operation is still going on in the area to track down the terrorists,” Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Bandipora, Lakshay Sharma told KNO, adding that the details will be shared accordingly.
