Trial run conducted successfully today

Jammu Tawi, Apr 24: After a long wait, the India’s high speed Vandhe Bharat Train is now all set to connect both capitals of the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) as the Indian Railway authorities conducted a successful trial run of Vandhe Bharat from Jammu to Srinagar today on Friday morning.
After the successful trial run, decks have been cleared for the operation of Vandhe Bharat from Jammu to Srinagar for the first time, which the Railway authorities had been trying since the last more than 5 years.
“The trial run of the first Vandhe Bharat was conducted successfully at around 10 AM today from Jammu Srinagar under expert supervision,” official sources informed the Northlines, while adding, “the trial run of the first Vandhe Bharat from Jammu to Srinagar was successful in all respects keeping in view the topography and the challenging hilly terrain”.
The trial run of the Vahdhe Bharat conducted today was successful in all respects and the operation of this train is most likely to start from Jammu to Srinagar from 30th of this month onwards, they further informed.
The Vandhe Bharat to operate from Jammu to Srinagar from 30th of April onwards will have 20 coaches and the newly trained technical staff of 40 members has also been assigned different duties as also the maintenance of this high train at Jammu, they said.
A new yard for the maintenance of Vandhe Bharat operating from Jammu to Srinagar has also been put in place with all high-tech arrangements at Jammu Railway Station.
As of now, the Vandhe Bharat operates between Katra and Srinagar, which was flagged off by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, flagged off the first Vande Bharat train service from Katra to Kashmir on June 6th 2025.
The operation of this high speed train from Jammu to Srinagar will give a major boost to the tourism as the tourists from various parts of the country will have the convenience of visiting various tourist destinations of Jammu region and then board the Vandhe Bharat from Jammu Railway Station to go to Srinagar.
