Jammu Tawi, Jan 11: Despite being the official languages of the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), none of the MLAs has submitted questions in Hindi and Dogri to the Assembly Secretariat for the upcoming budget session beginning from February 2nd onwards.

Hindi, Urdu, Kashmiri and Dogri are the official languages of J&K. “The questions by the MLAs from various parties have been submitted in Urdu and English but no one has submitted his question in Hindi and Dogri,” highly placed sources informed Northlines.

They said that January 12th i.e tomorrow is the last date for submitting both Starred and Unstarred questions in the Assembly Secretariat for the upcoming budget session.

The 29 BJP MLAs from Jammu region have not bothered to submit questions in either Hindi or Dogri, the official languages of J&K for the upcoming budget session.

All these 29 MLAs of the BJP are from Jammu region and speak Dogri and Hindi but none has submitted questions in Hindi and Dogri. While emphasis is often laid on promoting official working in Hindi/Dogri in Union Territory, no progress is noticed in this matter except for Police FIRs in Hindi and English.
