NEW DELHI, Apr 23: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the schedule for the Class 10 second board examinations for 2026, with exams set to begin on May 15 and conclude on May 21.
As per the official notification issued by Controller of Examinations Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, the exams will start at 10:30 am and cover core subjects along with regional and foreign languages. The initiative continues to give students an opportunity to improve their scores.
The examination will commence with Mathematics (Standard and Basic) on May 15, followed by English (Communicative and Language and Literature) on May 16. Science is scheduled for May 18, while May 19 will be dedicated to regional and foreign language papers, including Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati, French, German, and Japanese.
On May 20, students will appear for Painting, Sanskrit, and Information Technology (IT) with Artificial Intelligence (AI). The examination cycle will conclude with Social Science on May 21.
The CBSE introduced the two-board exam system last year, allowing students to improve performance in selected subjects. Earlier, the Session 1 exams were conducted between February 17 and March 11, 2026, with results declared on April 15.
Following the first session results, students seeking better scores now have the second phase as an opportunity to enhance their final marksheets. (Agencies)
