Jammu Tawi: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party Gandhi Nagar Mandal (BJP) leader Farman Ali has demanded a high-level probe to investigate the matter of land grabbing by some influential people in Sunjwan-Chowadhi area of Tehsil Bahu, District Jammu and involvement of corrupt revenue officials.
Addressing a press conference at Press Club of Jammu, Ali, who had unsuccessfully contested Panchyat elections in Jammu said that with the involvement of revenue officials some influential property dealers illegally encroached the state/Forest/ razing land and even not spared the lands of temples and other shrines, particularly in Sunjwan-Chowadhi area of South Jammu.
Supporting Sagotra Saryara Community, who is fighting over encroachment of their Kul devi Bua Dati Temple on Chowadhi comes under Tehsil Bahu, Jammu, Farman Ali said some revenue officials namely Ashraf, Zargar, Maqbool, Rashid ate main culprits behind the revenue frauds in Tehsil Bahu.
This needs to be investigated how some revenue officials had managed posting in Jammu only and in particular Tehsil Bahu only.
“In the lieu of money revenue officials deliberately dislocated the Khsara numbers of land in Sunjwan – Chowadhi area. There is lot of mismatching in Khasra numbers 654, 655,1049, 1052, 1439,1577, 1649, in Chowadhi while 2035, 2191, 2194 in Sunjwan also Shiv Mandir land Sunjwan,Chatta & Greater Kailash, farman Ali said and adding, “If investigation have been initiated 80 percent cases registered of murder and clashes in the jurisdiction of Chhanni Himmat and Trikuta Nagar (Bahu Fort) police stations were caused due to the involvement of revenue officials”.
He said Jal Shakti Department, PWD and power development department shall be held responsible for giving freebies to land encroachers at the cost of resources meant for people of Jammu.
He said it is a serious issue which needs the attention of the government.
He said that people have lot of hope in Lt Governor Manoj Sinha’s administration and an enquiry should be conduct in entire land of Sunjwan-Chowadhi area, where Gair Mumkin khadd, shamlat , state / Forest/grazing land and even land old temples and shrines where encroached and sold by the land grabbers.
Dwelling more details, he said there are two sets of departments first revenue officials give nishan to owners after taking bribes and then JDA comes in action to demolish structures and return after greasing palms. He appealed Lt Governor to cancel all such intkal and hold impartial inquiry by CBI or NIA in the land scams of just Sunjwan-Chowadhi area, which will be the biggest scam of earth.
