There is not an iota of doubt in the fact that the neighbouring country Pakistan must be having a problem after knowing that J&K is holding free and fair Assembly elections and people have been showing phenomenal enthusiasm towards this festival of democracy.
Although, the government has deputed several additional companies of the belt forces in J&K to ensure peaceful polls but one thing is sure that stooges of Pakistan in J&K are under immense pressure to disrupt peace during the polling time as these ‘yes men' working on the behest of their handlers sitting in Pakistan must have been asked to act and act fast.
The encounters between the terrorists and the security forces are the proof of the aforesaid situation as today only an encounter has been reported from Kathua's Billawar area where a police Head Constable has attained martyrdom while a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) and an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of the Police sustained injuries.
Akin to Kathua encounter, two ultras were killed while an officer was among 5 security men injured in a gun battle at Adigam Devsar in Kulgam when security forces were carrying out a cordon and a search operation following an input about terrorists' presence in the area. As this has become a regular affair in the recent times, the only motive behind increasing terror activities is disrupting peace and sabotaging the peaceful elections which are being held in the UT after a long gap of over ten years to install a popular government.
Looking at the crucial situation prevailing in the region, it has become imperative for the security forces to redouble their efforts to ensure that no violence monger could give concrete shape to his or her nefarious designs as maintaining peace at this juncture is vital for bringing J&K back on track.
There is dire need that the people helming the affairs of the region should make it a point to have proper synergy between different security agencies and the forces to make sure that no terror monger could vitiate tranquility or disrupt election process. With the third phase of polling scheduled for October 1, 2024, and the counting set to take place on October 8, 2024, the true sentiment of the people will be revealed, leading to the formation of a popular government that will steer the Union Territory toward new heights of peace and progress.
