Anantnag, Nov 18 (KNO): The District Bar Association Anantnag on Thursday staged a peaceful protest in Anantnag and demanded a judicial probe and return of bodies that were killed in Hyderpora encounter
The bar association staged a sit in protest at district court Anantnag and demanded justice in favour of civilians killed in the Hyderpora encounter.
The protesters said that there are different versions of the Hyderpora encounter and there is a need for a judicial probe so that truth may come to the fore.
The lawyers said that on one side there are slogans that there is a democratic set up but no ground it doesn’t exist.
The protesters said that Home Minister of India Amit Shah said that he will remove “dil ki doori and delhi ki doori” but such acts are further alienating people.
“If the government really really wants to remove dil ki doori then such acts of harassing people and killing them must be stopped,” they said.
“The encounter must be probed and action as per law must be taken against the persons involved in killing innocents besides their dead bodies must be returned at an earliest,” they said. “There is no such country in the world where even dead bodies are being denied.”
