    Bangladeshi National Apprehended Along IB in Jammu’s Gajansoo Area

    JAMMU, Jan 1: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday handed over a Bangladeshi national to the Jammu and Kashmir Police after he was apprehended near the International Border (IB) in the Gajansoo area of Jammu district.

    Officials said the individual was taken into custody by BSF personnel during routine border surveillance and later produced before the Border Police Post Gajansoo, under Police Station Kanachak.

    The apprehended person was identified as Shariful Islam Bhuiyan (19), son of Mozibul Haque Bhuiyan, a resident of the Adra area in Comilla district of Bangladesh.

    After completing initial formalities, the BSF handed him over to the police for further legal action. Police said questioning is underway to ascertain the circumstances of his crossing into Indian territory and to verify other related details. Further investigation is in progress. (Agencies)
