Automatic Ticket Vending Machines Installed at 5 Major Railway Stations in Jammu Division

JAMMU, Oct 22: To enhance passenger convenience during the festive season, Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) have been installed at five key railway stations in the Jammu division, officials said on Wednesday.

The machines are now operational at Pathankot Cantonment, Pathankot City, Jammu, Shahid Captain Tushar Mahajan (Udhampur), and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra stations. The ATVMs allow passengers to purchase tickets quickly without standing in long queues, featuring a user-friendly touchscreen interface for easy booking.

Passengers can make digital payments, including UPI and other cashless options, and those using Railway Smart Cards receive an additional 3% value on every recharge. The machines operate 24×7, supporting unreserved and platform ticket purchases, and offer multi-language options.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said the initiative aims to reduce crowding at railway stations, ensuring a safer and more comfortable travel experience. Indian Railways has encouraged passengers to utilize the facility for faster, hassle-free ticketing. (Agencies)
