Jammu Tawi, Dec 5: An Army ambush party opened fire after detecting suspicious movement near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials reported on Thursday.
The troops, positioned along likely infiltration routes, noticed unusual activity near Bagyaldara village late on Wednesday night. In response, they fired a few rounds, and simultaneously, a cordon was established around the suspected area.
There were no reported casualties following the Army’s firing. A search operation was launched at first light on Thursday and was ongoing when the last reports came in, according to officials.
