Amazon aims higher on Prime Day with new launches and deals
As Amazon gears up for its eighth Prime Day sale in India slated to kick off on July 20, Akshay Sahi, Director of Prime Delivery Experience stressed on the three pillars that have helped the e-commerce giant ramp up customer engagement – massive deals, new product introductions and entertainment options.
In an interview with this correspondent, Sahi mentioned that over 450 brands will unveil unique products exclusively for Prime members during the 24-hour shopping extravaganza. Echoing the sentiments of last year, Sahi expects Prime Day 2024 to witness increased customer interactions, new Prime subscriptions and maximum participation from sellers compared to previous editions.
When questioned about growth figures, Sahi refrained from sharing specifics but stated that India has emerged as a major contributor to Amazon’s over 200 million Prime members globally. The company has left no stone unturned to make Prime more accessible in smaller cities through associations with telecom providers and acceptance of various digital payment modes, especially UPI.
On the technology front, innovations have enabled Amazon to skillfully manage rapid order spikes during the sale. Sahi explained that next-generation supply chain tools monitor shipment tracking while sophisticated infrastructure aids swift order fulfillment nationwise. With expansion into newer regions, customers can now avail two-day shipping on almost all PIN codes.
While competition remains cut-throat in the Indian e-commerce space, Sahi emphasized that Amazon’s focus lies in delighting loyal Prime shoppers through exclusive offers, rather than competitors. As the eighth Prime Day offers greater deals than ever before, excitement is palpable among bargain-hunters across the country.
