ADC Sgr inspects cleanliness of Khushalsar Lake

    Appeals people not to throw waste, garbage into water bodies

    Srinagar, Mar 22: In the ongoing cleanliness of Khushalsar Lake, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Srinagar Dr. Syed Haneef Balkhi Monday inspected the cleanliness operations in the lake.

    According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Dr Balkhi appreciated the efforts and initiative of cleaning the Lake and also directed for the speedy cleanliness so that its glory and beauty is restored.

    Dr Balkhi told KNO that the Lake is a lifeline for two other Lakes, which are connected with it, but due to continuous disposal of waste items and garbage in the lake it has become polluted and he has directed for a speedy cleanliness efforts into it and very soon it will look like beautiful lake.

    He further said that the department is going to demarcate it very soon and anyone found making any encroachment will be dealt sternly as per the law.

    “The water bodies should be clean including this lake so that it acts as a lifeline between Anchar and Dal Lake. We also appeal to the people to help us keep water bodies safe and clean, so that the water bodies in the City don’t get choked,” he said.

    During the inspection, Balkhi also interacted with the locals of the area and assured them of all possible help in restoring the glory of the lake—(KNO)
