About 30% cases in Anantnag from DPL

Anantnag, May 20: 78 cops have tested positive for COVID-19 so far at the Anantnag DPL officials said.

The patient zero, the one who got infected first from the DPL, the first cop, his contacts were traced leading to discovery of 18 more positive. Now 55 more have tested positive and now there is a total of 78 positive cases in the police – 55 from an IRP battalion and 23 from the district police: SOURCES

The surge in positive patients from the police is a cause of concern that must be addressed on priority, official said.

“Most are from Armed battalion of the Police which is not linked to anti-militancy operations or law and order duties, so it won’t affect the normal policing,” they said.
