Jammu Tawi, Jan 31: Giving life to “old habits die hard”, the custodian general Jammu Kashmir Ms. Suriya Jabeen, KAS, who has been transferred reportedly on adverse feedback and posted as Additional Secretary to the Government, Tribal Affairs Department, on Sunday in violation of protocol called in a closed door meeting with her confident officers to make vested and shady orders.
The Northlines correspondent on visit to Custodian General office found locked from inside and guarded while the official vehicles parked outside. Northlines learnt from reliable sources that the agenda of the meeting is to regularise colored backdoor appointments, promotions and clearing the deck. Dy Custodian Jammu, Dy Custodian, Srinagar and some other subordinate officers are assisting close door.
Sources have revealed that this last minute clandestine meeting has been called as the Custodian General was not aware of her transfer.
We have also learnt that no one is being allowed to enter or exit the custodian’s office.
Pertinently, the Custodian General who has been shifted to insignificant post has been at the receiving end of several allegations of corrupt practices. It’s also being said that she was transferred unannounced because of the same. Rajesh Sharma, Secy JKPSC who has been transferred as new Custodian General has yet to join his new assignment.
We tried calling the office of Custodian, but there was no response.
