    Anti-Drug Drive Gains Momentum as LG Sinha Leads March in Ganderbal

    GANDERBAL, June 5: Thousands of people on Friday joined Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in a mega anti-drug padyatra in Ganderbal district, sending a strong message against substance abuse and reaffirming public support for efforts to build a drug-free society.

    The Lieutenant Governor arrived at Qamaria Ground, Ganderbal, where he was welcomed by senior civil and police officials, public representatives, students, youth groups and members of various social organisations before leading the march.

    The padyatra witnessed participation from people belonging to different walks of life, reflecting a collective resolve to combat drug abuse. Participants marched along designated routes carrying placards and spreading awareness about the harmful effects of narcotics.

    Addressing the gathering, Sinha stressed the importance of community participation in eliminating the drug menace and urged citizens, particularly the youth, to stay away from narcotics and contribute towards a healthier society.

    The event was organised as part of the Jammu and Kashmir administration’s ongoing anti-drug campaign aimed at intensifying public awareness and mobilising community support. The large turnout was viewed as a strong endorsement of the government’s mission to eradicate drug abuse.

    Amid tight security arrangements, the Lieutenant Governor interacted with participants and appreciated their enthusiastic response to the campaign. The march concluded with participants pledging to work collectively against drug addiction and spread awareness at the grassroots level.

    The mega padyatra underscored a message of unity, public responsibility and determination to make Jammu and Kashmir a drug-free region. (KNC)
