KISHTWAR, June 5: The District Administration Kishtwar on Friday suspended the Shri Machail Mata Yatra 2026 and Shri Mindhal Mata Yatra 2026 for the day due to adverse weather conditions across the district.
The decision was taken in view of continuous rainfall, slippery road conditions and the risk of shooting stones, which could endanger the safety of pilgrims, according to an advisory issued by the administration.
Authorities advised all pilgrims not to undertake the yatra on June 5 and asked them to stay at safe locations until further instructions are issued.
The suspension order came into effect immediately. Officials said the weather situation is being closely monitored and further decisions regarding the yatras will be taken based on prevailing conditions. (JKNS)
