NEW DELHI, May 28: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has revised the examination schedule for the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG) 2026, announcing that the postponed exams will now be held on May 31, June 6 and June 7 after the earlier May 28 slot was deferred due to Eid-ul-Azha.
According to the NTA, the rescheduling has been issued to ensure smooth conduct of the examination process for candidates across the country. The agency also confirmed that admit cards for candidates appearing on May 31 have already been released and are available for download on the official website, cuet.nta.nic.in.
For candidates scheduled to appear on June 6 and June 7, the admit cards will be issued shortly, the agency said, urging aspirants to regularly check the official portal for updates and instructions related to the examination.
The NTA further advised students to carefully verify exam details mentioned on their admit cards, including exam centre, reporting time and subject-wise schedule, before appearing for the test.
The CUET-UG, introduced in 2022, serves as a common entrance platform for admissions to undergraduate programmes in Central, state and select private universities across India. The exam was designed to replace multiple university-level entrance tests and streamline the admission process.
It aims to provide a uniform evaluation system for assessing candidates on language proficiency, domain-specific subjects and general aptitude, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes standardisation, inclusivity and equal opportunity in higher education admissions.
