New Delhi, Mar 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended greetings to people across the country on the occasion of Navratri and various traditional Indian New Year festivals, expressing hope for happiness, prosperity and renewed energy in the year ahead.
In his message, Modi conveyed wishes for Nav Samvatsar, Navratri, Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, Cheti Chand, Navreh and Sajibu Cheiraoba, noting that these festivals mark the beginning of a new year and bring a sense of renewal, hope and fresh possibilities.
“Greetings to everyone on the very special occasion of Nav Samvatsar. May everyone be blessed with infinite happiness, success and good health,” he said, adding that the new year should strengthen courage, self-confidence and the spirit of service while giving momentum to nation-building efforts.
Nav Samvatsar, the Hindu New Year (Vikram Samvat 2083), begins with Chaitra Shukla Pratipada.
Greeting people on Navratri, observed in honour of Goddess Durga, the prime minister wished for happiness, prosperity and good health, and prayed for collective welfare and renewed energy towards building a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
He also extended greetings on Gudi Padwa, expressing hope that the festival ushers in joy, success and good health while inspiring people to pursue aspirations and contribute meaningfully.
On Ugadi, celebrated in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, Modi said the festival symbolises new beginnings and wished for a year filled with happiness and success.
Extending wishes on Cheti Chand, he prayed for peace, prosperity and strengthened social harmony, invoking the blessings of Lord Jhulelal.
The prime minister also greeted people on Navreh, the Kashmiri Pandit New Year, wishing for a year of fresh hopes, renewed energy and opportunities.
He further conveyed greetings on Sajibu Cheiraoba, hoping the new year brings joy, prosperity and positivity to all. (Agencies)
