JAMMU, Mar 18: General Officer Commanding (GOC), Rising Star Corps, Lieutenant General Rajan Sharawat on Wednesday reviewed the operational preparedness of troops in the Bani-Machhedi sector of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir.
The officer assessed the readiness of forces deployed in the sensitive mountainous belt, which has witnessed multiple attacks and encounters over the past two years. The area is considered a key infiltration route from the International Border into Doda, Kishtwar and Udhampur districts.
According to the Defence PRO, Jammu, the GOC lauded the troops for their high morale, battle readiness and commitment to mission success under all conditions. The Army had deployed several companies in the high-altitude Bani-Machhedi region last year to strengthen anti-infiltration measures. (Agencies)
