    Pakistan’s Drone Narcotics Plot

It is intriguing that Pakistan has been continuously attempting to strike at the foundations of Jammu and Kashmir by giving shape to new and dangerous designs and spending enormous amounts of money to create unrest in J&K.

In its latest illegitimate effort, the rogue country has sent a huge consignment of narcotics, particularly heroin worth around Rs 12 crore as a part of a larger and more sinister design to ruin the future of the youth, weaken society, fund terror networks, and disrupt peace. By pushing narcotics into J&K, Pakistan is trying to harm the youth, spread addiction, and indirectly support anti-national elements.

This sinister design by Pakistan came to the fore yet again when the Jammu and Kashmir Police reportedly in a joint operation with the Border Security Force (BSF), recovered a huge quantity of high-grade narcotics worth around Rs 12 crore from agricultural fields on the outskirts of Bahadurpur village in the jurisdiction of Bishnah area of Jammu district. The consignment is suspected to have been dropped by a drone. The recovery site is located just a few kilometres from the India–Pakistan International Border. This alarming trend highlights the urgent need for stronger vigilance, cooperation among security forces, and awareness among the public to defeat such nefarious designs.

It is clear that Pakistan is funding all this to destabilize India by ruining the future of the younger population. It has allegedly created a network of operatives on this side of the border who collect these illegal consignments and sell them among the youth. The money earned from this trade is then used to spread unrest. Through this modus operandi, Pakistan appears to be killing several birds with one stone.

Thanks to the vigilant teams of BSF and police that many such consignments have been recovered before going in the hands of those for whom these were sent because if such big consignments were not seized by the authorities, these could have spoil many lives and families and dent the prospects of the nation’s progress.

After knowing about the dangerous plans of Pakistan in this whole gamut, it becomes necessary to increase vigilance in the suspected areas along borders but again the range of the critical area is too large and it is not physically possible to check all the places all the time.

Therefore, leveraging technology appears to be the best way to stop drones from entering this side of the border. It has become necessary that the government should rope in prestigious research institutions of the country like DRDO, IITs, etc., asking their scientists and students to design systems to identify and spot the low flying drones coming to this side from enemy territory and suggest ways to hit them hard so that they could not commit misdemeanors anymore.
