Jammu, Mar 12: Security forces have seized over 1.5 kg of heroin worth more than ₹8 crore that was allegedly dropped by a Pakistani drone near the International Border in Jammu, officials said on Thursday.
The contraband was recovered from a field in Bahadurpura village of the Bishnah area late Wednesday night after a local resident spotted a suspicious bag, they said.
According to officials, preliminary investigations indicate that the narcotics were dropped from across the border using a Pakistani drone.
Police have registered a case in connection with the recovery and launched further investigations to trace those involved in the smuggling attempt. (Agencies)
