New Delhi, Mar 11: The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested a 24-year-old Navy personnel for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), officials said.
In a press statement, the ATS said it had received intelligence inputs indicating that the individual was in contact with a Pakistan-based ISI agent and was passing on sensitive information.
The accused has been identified as Adarsh Kumar, alias Lucky, a resident of Agra, who was posted as a lance naik with the Southern Naval Command in Kochi, Kerala.
According to ATS officials, the suspect was allegedly sharing confidential information related to the armed forces with the Pakistani intelligence handler.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the extent of information shared and the possible involvement of other persons in the espionage network. (Agencies)
