Mughal Road Reopens for Traffic After Week-Long Weather Closure

Poonch, Jan 11: The historic Mughal Road was reopened for vehicular traffic on Sunday after remaining closed for seven days due to adverse weather conditions and ongoing road clearance operations, officials said.

Confirming the reopening, SSP Traffic Rural Farooq Qaisar said vehicular movement on the road will be strictly regulated and permitted only between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm as per the prescribed schedule. He said the timings will be enforced strictly to ensure smooth traffic flow and commuter safety.

The SSP urged motorists to exercise utmost caution while travelling on the road, particularly along high-altitude stretches, in view of the prevailing weather and road conditions.

He also appealed to commuters to adhere to traffic advisories, avoid unnecessary travel, maintain lane discipline and cooperate with traffic personnel deployed on duty to ensure safe and hassle-free movement.

Authorities said the situation will continue to be monitored closely and any changes in traffic regulations will be communicated promptly in the interest of public safety. (Agencies)
