Srinagar: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Sunday predicted that Jammu and Kashmir will continue to witness dry weather conditions until December 5, with no significant precipitation expected across most parts of the region.
According to the MeT, generally dry weather will prevail until December 3. December 4 and 5 are likely to remain mostly cloudy—especially from the evening of December 4—with a brief spell of light snowfall possible over isolated higher reaches.
From December 6 to 10, the weather is expected to stay partly to generally cloudy, with similar conditions likely on December 11 and 12. The MeT also warned that shallow to moderate fog will persist across many areas in the Kashmir division and at isolated spots in the Jammu division, particularly during night and early morning hours. Residents have been advised to exercise caution due to reduced visibility.
Cold and dry conditions are expected to hold until December 4, after which minimum temperatures may see a slight rise of 1–2°C, the department said. The MeT Centre added that no major weather disturbance is anticipated during the forecast period, and overall conditions will remain stable across the Valley and Jammu region. (Agencies)
