    Bodies of 3 missing civilians found in Kathua’s Billawar area

    Kathua, March 8, 2025: The bodies of three civilians who went missing last night in village Lohai Malhar in Billawar tehsil of Kathua district have been found in the upper reaches of the Billawar area today. Sources said that Militant outfit TRF in an unverified statement yesterday claimed the responsibility. According to sources, three civilians went missing when they were on way to a marriage function at Lohai Malhar in hilly area of Billawar in Kathua district last night.

    They have been identified as Varun Singh, 15, son of Chamel Singh, a resident of village Dehota, Yogesh Singh, 32, son of Shori Lal and Darshan Singh, 40, both residents of Marhoon.

    The bodies were recovered after an extensive search operation carried out by local authorities, including police and rescue teams, in the rugged terrain of the Billawar region. An investigation is underway to uncover the details surrounding their disappearance and death.

    Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.

    Pertinent to mention that on February 16, two civilians Shamsher, 37 and Roshan 45, were also found dead at village Kohag in Billawar. They had gone to collect wood when their bodies were discovered, and there is growing suspicion that they may have been killed by terrorists.
