A devastating forest fire wreaked havoc in Devak Hathal area of Sunderbani Tehsil in District Rajouri, whereas the concerned officials seem to be in slumber.
According to eye witnesses, massive fire engulfed forest area in Sehada village in Devak Hathal in the late evening, but no efforts from the concerned authorities were visible till the fire wreaked havoc in the area.
“A massive uncontrolled forest fire swept through large areas of the village Sehada, causing extensive damage to forest resources, including wildlife,” witnesses said.
The fire, which began in the forest area in Devak Hathal quickly spread, said local.
“The concerned administration would have deployed all machinery to douse the fire. But, no official from the Forest Department has reached the spot despite the fact that the fire has been spreading to new areas rapidly,” witnesses said.
Despite repeated attempts to contact range officer, Anil Dev Singh, he was unavailable for comments.
