KULGAM, Jan 9: Security forces arrested a suspected individual and recovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition during a joint operation in Kulgam district on January 8, 2025.
The operation, a coordinated effort between the Indian Army and Police, was based on specific intelligence inputs. It took place at Thokarpura Mohallah, Qaimoh, in the Kulgam area. Officials stated that the suspect was apprehended with a haul that included one AK rifle, four AK magazines, 120 rounds of AK ammunition, two hand grenades, and other war-like stores.
The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army, which led the operation, confirmed the arrest via a statement on social media platform X, noting the significant recovery made during the search.
Further investigations into the case are ongoing, according to police officials.
