New Delhi, November 28: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has carried out raids at 22 locations across six states in connection with a human trafficking case, aiming to dismantle an organized trafficking network. The operation, which began early Thursday morning, involves NIA teams working in close coordination with state police forces.
The raids target individuals and organizations suspected of trafficking men, women, and children for forced labor and other forms of exploitation. Authorities believe the network may have cross-border links, and the NIA took over the case (RC-10/2024/NIA/DLI) from local police after uncovering signs of a larger criminal syndicate.
The NIA’s intervention comes as part of heightened efforts by Indian authorities to combat human trafficking, with a focus on disrupting trafficker supply chains and rescuing victims. Despite strict laws, trafficking remains a persistent issue in India, affecting vulnerable populations, particularly from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The investigation continues, with authorities working to identify and dismantle trafficking operations across the country and beyond.
