Jammu Tawi: A free health camp was organized today at the Health and Wellness Centre (H&WC) in Kudwal, under the leadership of Block Medical Officer Dr. Ghansham Singh. The event aimed at improving health awareness and providing essential medical services to the local community.
The health camp focused on free screenings for common conditions like hypertension, diabetes, and other chronic diseases. It also aimed to raise awareness about preventive healthcare, proper nutrition, and healthy lifestyle choices. Medical consultations were offered, along with free medications for those in need.
Dr. Gyaneshwar Sharma, one of the key figures behind the initiative, spoke about the importance of such camps, saying, “These health camps play a critical role in bridging the gap between communities and essential healthcare services. Our goal is not only to treat but also to educate individuals on how to take control of their health and adopt preventive measures.”
The event also featured informative talks on nutrition, mental health, and disease prevention, promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. Essential medicines were distributed at no cost, and attendees received personalized medical advice from healthcare professionals.
Sarpanch Raghuveer Singh’s leadership played a vital role in the camp’s success. He was actively involved in encouraging local residents to attend the camp and benefit from the services. Addressing the participants, he said, “The health and well-being of our community are our top priorities. This camp ensures that every resident has access to essential health services, and I am grateful for the support of the healthcare department and the community’s enthusiastic participation.”
