Jammu Tawi: RM Public School, Jammu, organized 11th Annual Day cum Prize Distribution Ceremony, “Aarangam,” at the Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, on Saturday. The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries including the Chief Guest Javed Ahmed Rana, Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment, and Tribal Affairs Department (J&K), the Presiding Guest Suresh Kumar Gupta (IFS), Principal Secretary Education (J&K), and Shailender Singh, SSP Railways, Jammu. S.P. Varma, renowned Padma Shree awardee, was also a Guest of Honour at the occasion. The Chief Guest, Javed Ahmed Rana, appreciated the hard work and creativity of the students, expressing admiration for their performances. Rana praised the theme Aarangam and lauded the thought and creativity behind it, making the event a memorable occasion for all present. Lakshmi Dutt Shastri, an esteemed Educationist, and Shri Jagdish Chandar were conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award for their exceptional contributions to the field of education. The event was further dignified by the presence of Chairman Rameshwar Mengi, Trustee Rita Mengi, Director Pushp Vatika, Risheek Mengi, along with eminent guests from sister concern schools and other patrons and parents.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome from the Director of RM Public School, Rakshan Mengi, Vice Principal Dr. Harvinder Kour, and Administrator Surinder Singh. The theme of the cultural show, Aarangam, was revealed to symbolize a space where challenges and opportunities converge, testing and celebrating the true potential of students.
The two-hour cultural program captivated the audience, showcasing stellar performances such as an interstate flare, a theatrical piece on transgender issues, a mask and robot dance, and an energetic Bhangra performance by students, all of which contributed to a vibrant atmosphere. A euphonious rendition of the school anthem, “We Are RMPS Family,” presented by the school orchestra, was the highlight of the evening.
