Jammu Tawi: The ongoing protest led by Movement Kalki, demanding stringent laws for cow protection and a complete ban on cow slaughter, has entered its one-month mark today. Protesters, including activists and community leaders, have been staging a relentless day-and-night demonstration, vowing to continue their struggle until cows are granted full protection. The key demands of the protest include the enactment of strict laws to stop cow slaughter, the establishment of cow shelters (gaushalas) in all regions, and the creation of Cow Welfare and Sanatan Boards. Movement Kalki’s leaders have also called for the imposition of murder charges and death penalties for those involved in cow killings.
“We will not stop until cows receive the honor and protection they deserve,” said the protesters. They expressed outrage over the continued mistreatment and slaughter of cows in a country where they are considered sacred. Thakur Arjun Singh said, “We have been protesting for 30 days, but the government representatives remain absent. Those who sought our votes are nowhere to be seen now.”
Pawan Sharma said, “The government must immediately form a Cow Welfare Board and a Sanatan Board to enforce a complete ban on cow slaughter and punish perpetrators with murder charges and the death penalty.” Sushil Dutt Shashi said, “If cow slaughter continues, cow milk will eventually vanish from this country, leading to an ecological imbalance.” Saurabh Sharma said, “The youth must stand against this sin, and the government must act decisively.” Rakesh Sharma said, “If we don’t stop cow slaughter, one day it will be too late to rectify.” The protest, which has gained significant attention, has seen prominent participation from activists including Thakur Arjun Singh, Baba Khandeshwari Ji, Laksh Bali, Pawan Sharma, and Arun Gupta.
