Srinagar, Nov 19: A significant dip in minimum temperatures has been recorded across several stations in the Kashmir division, and some areas in the Jammu division are also experiencing a sharp decline in temperatures. The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar reported that the minimum temperature has fallen notably, with an expected further drop of 1-2°C over the next three days.

In light of the cold wave, tourists, trekkers, and travelers have been urged to take extra precautions, adhering to all administrative and traffic advisories to ensure safety during their journeys.

The latest weather forecast for the coming days indicates generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir until the evening of November 23. However, light rain and snow are expected in the higher reaches of Kashmir and some isolated areas in Jammu on November 24. This precipitation will likely occur late on November 23 and continue through the morning of November 24.

From November 25 to 30, the weather is expected to remain predominantly dry, providing a temporary break in the cold conditions.

Authorities are advising travelers to plan their trips carefully, especially those heading into high-altitude areas. Travelers are also encouraged to carry proper winter gear and stay updated with local advisories, particularly given the expected light snow and rain on November 24.

The cold wave, with temperatures already plummeting, serves as a reminder of the challenging conditions in the region as winter deepens.
