Dimple led delegation call on Satish, project issues

Jammu Tawi: A delegation led by Sunil Dimple, president of Mission Statehood, met with Satish Sharma, the Cabinet Minister for CAPD, Transport, and Food & Supplies, at the Civil Secretariat on Monday to discuss rising prices of essential commodities and other pressing issues affecting the public.

Dimple raised several key demands during the meeting, including the provision of 12 free LPG cylinders annually, 200 free units of electricity for all families, and a crackdown on hoarding and stockpiling of essential commodities. He also called for age relaxation for over-aged youths in J&K and a special employment package for the unemployed.

In addition, Dimple emphasized the need to bring petrol, diesel, and LPG under GST to make them more affordable. He also demanded that the government double the ration supply at depots and launch price control measures to address the surging costs of basic food items like atta, rice, onions, and tomatoes.

Dimple criticized the BJP-led government for its failure to curb inflation, accusing it of neglecting the financial struggles of common people. He demanded the resignation of the BJP government for its inability to control rising fuel prices and the escalating cost of living.

In response, Minister Satish Sharma assured that the Jammu & Kashmir government would take immediate action to address these concerns. He confirmed the government’s plan to provide 12 free LPG cylinders, double ration, and 200 free units of electricity to households. Sharma also promised to send price control teams to monitor the market and enforce price regulations.
