Jammu Tawi: The 44th Foundation Day of the Spiritual Awareness Society of India (SASI) was celebrated on Sunday at its Ashram in Om Vihar, Udhaywala, Jammu, with fervor and devotion. The event saw a large gathering of devotees from Jammu and Kashmir, as well as neighboring states. The celebration was chaired by Smt. Anuradha Mata, the Chairperson of SASI, with Ajay Sadhotra, former Minister, as the Chief Guest.
In her address, Anuradha Mata emphasized the distinction between true spirituality and man-made religions, highlighting how blind faith in religious leaders, whether they are saffron-clad or white-robed, often leads to exploitation. She urged the audience to focus on self-realization, advocating for the regular chanting of ‘OM’ as a simple yet powerful means of spiritual awakening.
The event also paid tribute to the Society’s founder, Dr. Sahab, who established SASI in 1982 with the goal of awakening individuals to the difference between spirituality and religious dogma. Smt. Anuradha Mata stressed that religion should be rooted in self-realization, logic, and reason, not in rituals or outdated scriptures.
Sadhotra, in his speech, praised the management for organizing the event and encouraged attendees to regularly chant ‘OM’ to reduce stress and improve their lives. He also acknowledged the work of SASI in promoting spiritual awareness and wished the Society continued success.
The day included devotional songs by various Satsangis, a Bhandara (community meal), and concluded with the chanting of ‘OM’ by all present, fostering unity and spiritual fellowship among participants.
