Mehboob appointed as Chief Spokesperson PDP, Parra as Legislature Party Leader

Srinagar: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti chaired a party meeting on Thursday in which she appointed Senior leader Mehboob Beg as the new chief spokesperson of the party, while Waheed Parra, the MLA from Pulwama, was nominated as the legislature party leader.

Additionally, Rafiq Naik, the MLA from Tral, was named the deputy leader of the legislature party, and Mir Fayaz, the MLA from Kupwara, has been assigned the role of chief whip.

The meeting, which saw the participation of prominent PDP leaders including Ab Rehman Veeri, Mohd Sartaj Madni, Gh Nabi Lone Hanjura, Asiya Naqash, Adv Haq Khan, Basharat Bukhari, and Mohd Khurshid Alam, also discussed a range of issues, including the current political landscape in Jammu and Kashmir and strategies to strengthen the party’s role in the region.

These appointments come at a crucial time for the PDP, as the party looks to recalibrate its leadership and play a more prominent role in the evolving political dynamics of Jammu and Kashmir.
