Jammu Tawi: Panun Kashmir leaders while addressing a press conference at the Press Club Jammu on Monday, made a strong plea to the Government of India (GoI) to address two critical issuesPanun Kashmir leaders urged the GoI to recognize what they called the “two cardinal reasons” behind the misuse of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and democratic space by separatists. The first reason is pursuing the policy of Denial of Hindu Genocide in Kashmir as critical strategic imperative. They claim that this denial has allowed the perpetrators of the genocide to pose as secular and tolerant figures, further spreading a divisive and genocidal ideology not just in Kashmir, but across India.
The second reason, according to the leaders, is the “patronization of halfway separatism” as a political strategy, which has provided separatist forces with the political space to advance their agenda of division.
The Panun Kashmir leaders warned that the continued denial of the Hindu genocide has emboldened communal forces in Kashmir and facilitated the spread of jihadist ideology, which has now spilled over into other parts of India. They pointed to recent attacks on Hindus across various states, from Manipur to West Bengal, Kerala, and Kashmir, as a direct consequence of the GoI’s tolerance of Muslim communalism.
Panun Kashmir reiterated its demand for the creation of a Union Territory of Panun Kashmir as a solution to the crisis facing Kashmiri Hindus. They stated that the reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir, including the creation of a separate state for Jammu, was no longer just a matter of justice but a critical national security issue.
