Kathua: In a significant step towards empowering young women in the region, Government Degree College Kathua has successfully conducted the first-year enrolment for the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in the Girls’ NCC Battalion of Jammu. The enrolment, which took place on Wednesday witnessed enthusiastic participation from female students eager to join the prestigious corps and embark on a journey of leadership, discipline, and national service. The whole activity was conducted under the guidance of principal of the college Prof. Seema Mir. Principal Prof. Seema Mir, speaking at the event, highlighted the importance of programs like the NCC in shaping the future of young women, emphasizing the development of skills such as teamwork, resilience, and national pride. The enrolment session marks the beginning of an exciting journey for the young women of GDC Kathua as they step into the world of NCC, where discipline, adventure, and patriotism will guide them toward a brighter future. The selection was conducted under the supervision of Sub Tsering Punchok of 2 J&K Girls Bn NCC, Jammu. Sub Tsering Punchok expressed his appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of the students who are eager to join the National Cadet Corps and embrace its values of discipline, teamwork, and service to the nation.
